Mechanized Infantry Regiment Concludes Young Officers’ Course 13

Seven young Officers took their initial step into the family of Mechanized Infantry as they graduated from the Mechanized Infantry Young Officers' Course No 13, conducted from 18 May 2024 to 12 November 2024 at the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre(MITC) Periyakaddu during a simple and serene ceremony.

The Colonel of the Regiment the Mechanized Infantry Regiment and the General Officer Commanding, 21 Infantry Division Major General W.M.S.C.K Wanasinghe RSP USP graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Centre Commandant Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre, Commander, Mechanized Infantry Brigade and all Commanding Officers of the Mechanized Infantry Regiments during the event held at the invitation of the Overlooking Commandant - MITC.

Day's proceedings began with a final presentation on "Evolution of the Mechanized Infantry in Sri Lanka and the use of Mechanized tactics in future challenges", by the Young Officers and culminated with a fruitfull thought provoking session.

After the comprehensive presentation, awarding of certificates and Regimental Insignia ceremony was held and Lieutenant H.R.P.M Handagama from 4 MIR secured the best in Order of Merit considering best overall performances in the course.
