Maxxis 'Thuru Viyana' Green Project Stage II Launched at SLSR Regimental Centre

Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, adding one more lead to the national drive for forestation and beautification of the country, in line with ‘Manusath Derana’ tree planting programme, inaugurated Maxxis mega ‘Thuru Viyana’ project this morning (10).

The veteran Cinema Actor Mr. Ravindra Randeniya along with Major General Manoj Mudannayake, Director General Infantry, Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR were associated with the event.

Major Sameera Dassanayake Commanding Officer of Headquarter Battalion of RC SLSR conducted the welcome speech after the lightening of the traditional oil lamp at the venue. Adding value to the event, Mr. Ravindra Randeniya addressed the audience and highlighted the discipline and cohesive work for betterment of the organization.

Mr Sunil Fonseka the Managing Director of Tyre House Group also highlighted the importance of the green environment in present day contest.

Later, they participated in the planting of 100 trees inside the SLSR Regimental premises by planting saplings of ‘Anoda’ (Soursop), Durian, (Durio zibethinus), ‘Woodapple’ (Limonia acidissima), ‘Mango’ (Mangifera indica), Coconut (Cocos nucifera)’ etc.

Mrs Piyumali Mudannayake, Chairperson, SVU-SLSR, Brigadier Ajith Pallewala, Centre Commandant SLSR, Mrs. Padmini Pallewala, Secretary SVU-SLSR, Members of the ‘Manusath Derana’, Members of the Maxxis Tyre group, Staff Officers of the SLSR and soldiers also participated in the event.

The SLSR, from there onward under the close supervision of the Colonel of the Regiment expects to expand the project increasing up to 1500 saplings, to be coincident with the government’s environment-friendly Green Project concept to plant trees and agro-forestry systems in order to increase national forest cover in urban and semi-urban areas.Buy Sneakers | Jordan Ανδρικά • Summer SALE έως -50%
