Matale District coordinating conference for prevention of COVID-19 pandemic was held at the Divisional Secretariat office in Dambulla on Tuesday (27), attended by Major General Nishantha Manage, District Coordinating Officer for Matale and the General Officer Commanding of the 53 Division.
He had a lengthy discussion with the Parliamentarian, Mr. Pramitha Bandara and other stakeholders regarding the sudden increase of COVID-19 positive cases in Matale district. The status quo of the vaccination, preventive measures against the spread of the pandemic, impact on the community, conduct of awareness programmes, progress of conducting random PCR/Antigen tests and the need of implementing a proper mechanism to curtail the spread of the virus in coordination with police, government and health authorities were discussed during the conference.
