MAS Holdings which has been right throughout backing the Army for its promotion of sports and athletics once again, showed its goodwill and donated several stocks of sportswear to the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake on Wednesday (18).
Impressed with the records that have been made by the Army both at local and international levels, Colonel (Retired) Janaka Masakkara, Deputy General Manager, MAS Intimates, handed over the stocks symbolically to the Commander of the Army after meeting the latter at the Army Headquarters.
Accepting the goodwill gesture, Lieutenant General Ratnayake recalled the MAS Holdings unstinted support that has been lent to the Army, providing stimuli to the sportsmen of the Army for creation of many new records. He thanked the company for its thoughtfulness.
Major General Amal Karunasekara, Chairman, Army Athletics Association and a few senior officers were associated with the event at the Army Headquarters.
