Troops from 24 Sri Lanka Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under command to the 591 Brigade of 59 Division of the Security Force Headquarters Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) organized a medical clinic, blood donation campaign and an educational workshop on the prevention of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) for students and the general public at Kumalamunai Maha Vidyala in Mullaittivu on Sunday (13).
15 doctors including 2 specialists treated in the medical clinic to approximately 390 students and the general public. Swamy Vipulanandan Kalamandum’ institute, Matale provided to all medicine to the medical clinic, free of charge.
Meanwhile, to be in parallel with the medical clinic, Dr. Rajitha Siriwardana and Staff of Mullaittivu Base Hospital conducted a blood donation campaign. 40 Army personnel donated blood in the arrangement. A lecture Sexually Transmitted Diseases meanwhile educated the students.
Major General A.S De Z Wickramarathne, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 59 Division, Rev Sambandan Kurakkal, Chief incumbent, Kathpagar Vinayagar Kovil, Kumalamunai and many other senior officers and invitees attended these progarammes.
