General (Dr) Zulkifeli Bin Mohd Zin, Chief of Malaysian Defence Force currently attending the South and Southeast Asian Nations (SASEAN) Defence Chiefs’ Dialogue 2014 in Colombo at the invitation of Ministry of Defence, paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake Thursday (27) afternoon at the Army Headquarters.
General (Dr) Zulkifeli Bin Mohd Zin is scheduled to take part in the Passing out Parade (PoP) of the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) as the Chief Guest during the forthcoming weekend (Nov 29-30) at the invitation of Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army.
A Guard Turnout plus a Guard of Honour, presented by Sri Lanka Engineers, saluted the visiting General (Dr) Zulkifeli Bin Mohd Zin on arrival at the MoD ground, next to the northern gate at the Army Headquarters before he was conducted to the Commander’s Secretariat. Major General V.U.B Nanayakkara, Colonel Commandant of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Engineers, received the visiting Defence Force Chief of Malaysia.
At the entrance to the Commander’s Secretariat, he was warmly received by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake. The visiting Malaysian Defence Force Chief was afterwards introduced to the Principal Staff Officers of the Army who also welcomed the visiting Chief of Defence Force.
Talks that ensued afterwards at the Commander’s office largely centered on bilateral cooperation and matters of mutual interest to both organizations.
The visiting Malaysian Defence Force Chief left his signature in the VIP book afterwards as the Commander of the Army looked on. After the exchange of mementos that took place in the Commander’s office, the Malaysian Defence Force Chief had an interactive session with the Principal Staff Officers of the Army before his exit from the Army Headquarters.
