Major General Y Balarathnarajah VSV USP ndc Combat Endurance Training Competition – 2024, organized by the Armoured Corps Training Centre (ACTC), took place from 29 September to 01 October 2024 at ACTC, Kalattewa. This event tested the endurance, fitness, and teamwork of six units from the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps.
Honouring the late Major General Y Balarathnarajah, the event was sponsored by his family.
The 3rd Armoured Regiment secured the championship, earning the Major General Y Balarathnarajah Challenge Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 100,000. The 4th Armoured Regiment and the 6th (Rft) Regiment were awarded second and third places, receiving Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 40,000, respectively. Lance Corporal V.P.R.T. Dhananjaya of the 6th (Rft) Regiment was recognized as the best combat endurance soldier.
The awarding ceremony was held on 01 October 2024 and graced by Major General M.S Devapriya USP ndc, Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, as the Chief Guest.
