Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, the Chief of Staff (COS), symbolically accepted the appointment, Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment on 08 April 2024 from Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army at the office of the Commander of the Army.
The Senior Officer was appointed as the 13th Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment. This appointment, previously held by the Commander of the Army, was symbolically handed over to COS. The Colonel of the Regiment holds a pivotal role in the Regiment, representing the Regiment's history, traditions, and values.
