Major General W.G.P Sisira Kumara RSP assumed duties as the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) at the Volunteer Force Headquarters in Kosgama on 04 June 2024 amidst military traditions.
Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Senior Officers of SLAVF. The day's proceedings included a Guard Turnout by the Sri Lanka National Guard, followed by a Guard of Honour at the SLAVF Parade Square. Later on, Major General Sisira Kumara placed his signature on an official document at the auspicious time, formally accepting his new role as the 33rd Deputy Commandant of SLAVF, amidst the blessings of the Maha Sanga.
To mark this occasion, he planted a sapling and addressed the troops, emphasizing the importance of discipline as Army personnel. The event concluded with an All Ranks tea arrangement.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the programme.
