Major General W.A.K.B Udalupola who was recently promoted to the rank of Major General was welcomed at his Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) Regimental Headquarters at Ambepussa on Saturday (25) in a formal military ceremony.
A Guard Turnout & a Parade in his honour were presented to the newly-promoted Major General W.A.K.B Udalupola by Regimental troops in accordance with military traditions after his arrival at the venue.
The day’s agenda included a wreath-laying ceremony at the SLSR War Heroes’ monument, Planting of a sapling and sharing of refreshments with all ranks at the Warrant Officers’ & Sergeants’ Mess. A special lunch treat at the Officers’ Mess later on brought the day’s event to an end.
Major General W.A.K.B Udalupola is currently serving as the General Officer Commanding, 23 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - East.
