Major General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne in addition to his office of the Secretary Defence, this morning (26) assumed duties as Secretary to the Ministry of Internal Security, Home Affairs and Disaster Management at the new office premises in the Narahenpita (Nila Medura).
Amid chanting of 'Seth Pirith' of Buddhist monks, the new Secretary left his signature in an official document and signified the acceptance of the new office.
Hon Chamal Rajapaksa, State Minister of Internal Security, Home Affairs and Disaster Management, Hon Sarath Weerasekara, State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Air Force, Acting IGP, Head of the Civil Defence Force, Head of the National Cadet Corps, Mrs Chithrani Gunaratne, President MOD Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, President Army Seva Vanitha Unit few senior Military Officers, staff members of the Ministry attended the occasion. At the end of the ceremony Major General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne, had interaction with Media personnel.
