Major General Lakshman Fernando Takes Leave of 5 Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps Troops

The outgoing Commander, Forward Maintenance Area (North), Major General Lakshman Fernando made a visit to the 5 Regiment Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC) in Palaly on Wednesday (9) on the eve of his departure.

The Visiting FMA North Commander was welcomed by the Commanding Officer, 5 SLAOC Lieutenant Colonel S. D Range on his arrival at the venue and was later accorded a Guard Turnout by 5 SLAOC troops.

The day’s formalities at the battalion headquarters added more significance as the Commander, Forward Maintenance Area - North, was invited to plant a sapling before he was invited to address the troops.

Major General Lakshman Fernando shared a cup of tea with all ranks along with Senior Officers and Commanding Officers. Towards the end of the visit, Lieutenant Colonel S. D Range, Commanding Officer 5 SLAOC awarded a special memento to outgoing Major General Lakshman Fernando. Finally, he left compliments in the visitors' book before he left the camp.
