Major General Chandana Wijesundara, the new Chief Field Engineer of the Sri Lanka Army assumed duties on Monday (27) at his office in the Army HQ as the 13th Chief Field Engineer (CFE).
At his new office, Major General Chandana Wijesundara performed religious observances and symbolically placed his signature for a formal document to signify the acceptance of his new appointment.
Afterwards, all Senior Officers and Officers in the office congratulated him on his new appointment. Major General Chandana Wijesundara was the General Officer Commanding of the Engineers Division, prior to assumption of office as the CFE. He succeeds Major General Nihal Amarasekara, just retired from the Army having served the Army for more than 35 years.
Staff Officers of the HQ of the Chief Field Engineer, Officers and Other Ranks attended the inauguration of the new office, adhering to health guidelines.
