Troops of the 52 Division in Mirisuvil upon arrival of their newly-promoted General Officer Commanding Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe after receipt of new insignia from the Army Chief at the HQ premises presented honours and greeted him on Wednesday (13).
Troops of the 7 and 15 Battalions of Gajaba Regiment presented a Guard Turnout at the entrance and a Guard of Honour afterwards during formalities.
He also added memories by symbolically planting a mango sapling in the camp premises and this was followed by a group photograph.
Afterwards, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe addressed troops of the 52 Division and joined an all rank tea to mark the end of the day’s proceedings.
Brigade Commanders of under command Brigades, Staff Officers of the 52 Division, Commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks attended the felicitation ceremony adhering to health guidelines.
