Maiden Copy of VIR ‘Coffee Table' Book Presented to Army Chief

The maiden edition of the ‘Coffee Table' book, published by the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) was presented to the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage by Major General S.U.M.N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, Colonel of the Regiment, VIR, Director General General Staff and Commander - 1 Corps on Tuesday (21 March) at the Commanders’ Office, Army HQ.

The pictorial product documents the legacy of the Regiment's life-span, its evolution since its founding, its infrastructure growth, battlefield achievements of unmatched nature, bravery and gallantry of its War Heroes and unparalleled contribution of its War Heroes specifically to the liberation of the motherland from clutches of LTTE terrorism, etc.

The book, authored by Brigadier P.S Subath Sanjeewa RSP psc of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, together with an editorial team is the first of its kind, produced in the VIR under the guidance and supervision of Major General S.U.M.N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc.

Brigadier P.S. Subath Sanjeewa RSP psc, Commander Air Mobile Brigade and Brigadier M.A.D.J.D Gunathilake RSP USP, Centre Commandant at VIR Regimental Headquarters were also present during the presentation of the maiden copy to the Army Chief.
