NORTH & EAST: ARMY troops engaged in search and clear operations in the general areas of VISUAMADU, KOKAVIL, PUTHUKKUDDIYIRUPPU, MULLAITTIVU, SUGANDIPURAM and KAPPUKULAM recovered nineteen hand grenades, one anti personnel mine, two M-16 weapons, ten M-16 magazines, forty-five rounds of 5.56 ammunition, five Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG), two T-56 magazines, one hundred rounds of T-56 ammunition, one thousand three hundred and forty-four electric detonators, eleven claymore mines, three claymore plates, nineteen suicide bombs, fifty-seven suicide jackets, four thousand four hundred and nine 9 mm pistol rounds, ten thousand and five hundred non electric detonators, six claymore circuits, thirty slabs of TNT explosives, twenty-five rounds of paddle gun ammunition, eleven Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), 235 kg of high explosives, 10 kg of gun powder, one hundred and thirty-two 82 mm mortar bombs, ninety-five 82 mm mortar fuses, fifty 82 mm mortar cartridges, seven Outboard Motors (OBM), three Yesu cameras, six camera flash lights, four camera stands, one Yasika auto focus camera, two Yesu Radio sets and a large stock of weapon parts on Monday (14).
Meanwhile, Army troops operating in BATTICOLOA conducted search operations in TARAVIKULAM area on a tip-off and recovered four thousand electric detonators, four cases containing C-4 explosives and two thousand two hundred and fifty rounds of T-56 ammunition on the same day (14).
