BATTICALOA : TROOPS STILL engaged in search and clear work in the recently liberated BATTICALOA area Monday (19) morning around 9.00 a.m. following a suspicion unearthed one more stock of LTTE explosives and other items that could have been used for criminal work.
LTTE radio communication equipment, one suicide jacket, a huge claymore mine (15 kg), large stock of bicycle balls, a claymore firing device, one icom battery charger and a 12-V battery charger that remained buried in KOOLAVADICHOLAI, area were thus unearthed this morning (19) around 9.00 a.m.
Troops are actively assisting Government authorities busy in development working in the east while clearing areas earlier used by Tiger terrorists for their criminal work.
