PADAVIYA: ONCE AGAIN, LTTE TERRORISTS with callous disregard for human lives fired towards a refugee camp at DEVALAKANDA, PADAVIYA, today (26) around 1.15 p.m. during an exchange of fire with the Police and the Security Forces.

The incident occurred when a group of armed Tiger terrorists began to cross DEVALAKANDA area without obtaining prior approval for their movement in accordance with provisions of the Cease-Fire Agreement.

Their movement prompted the Security Forces and the Police to open fire at them in self-defence, but the fleeing terrorists retaliated firing indiscriminately nearly hitting a refugee centre in the vicinity.

The terrorist firing led to panic in the refugee camp among its inmates.
