LTTE Continue To Silence Dissenting Voices

NORTH & EAST: DISSENTING VOICES OF THE PUBLIC are continuing to be penalized by Tamil Tiger terrorists in BATTICALOA and JAFFNA as disguised terrorists secretly enter houses and silence dissenters with the barrel of guns.

The latest tragedy was reported from VINAYAGAPURAM in VALAICHCHENA when marauding LTTE terrorists gunned down a twenty-eight year old former LTTE cadre for his refusal to re-join the terrorist organization.

The ex-LTTE cadre PERIYATHAMBI VELUPILLAI (28) of 50-Housing Scheme, KALKUDAH, KALMUNAI, married to VELUPILLAI VADANI was taken out of home on Tuesday (29) at about 10.30 p.m. when LTTE terrorists visited him and forced him to re-join the organization immediately since his service is urgently required.

However, the victim has reportedly refused their demand, which made terrorists angry pushing him into a heated argument with the terrorists as the neighbours began to come out in the dark.

After failure to convince their former comrade of the need to re-join the LTTE, those gunmen had shot at him and fled the area in the dark.

Neighbours have however kept the nearest Army detachment informed of the crime this morning (30) at about 7.45 a.m..

In the meantime, on Tuesday (29) around 1.30 p.m. an LTTE gunman has slowly entered ARIYARATHNAM SATHYASEELAN's house on NAYANMAR Lane at NALLUR, JAFFNA and killed him inside his house because of his refusal to join the LTTE.

The twenty-six year old young victim's dead body was dispatched to the JAFFNA hospital after summoning the Police. Meanwhile, another young man, identified as JESUDASAN DEMIEN (31) was shot and killed by LTTE gunmen near KASTHURIYA junction in JAFFNA Tuesday (29) morning around 11.15 a.m..

Motorbike-riding terrorists had come close to the victim and shot at him while many civilians looked on. Those terrorists fled the area after the criminal act. The SLMM was informed about these murders.

Respective Police stations are conducting investigations.
