NORTH & EAST: TROOPS operating in the general areas of ADAMPAN, VISUAMADU and PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU conducted search and clear operations in those areas on Tuesday (15) and recovered fifteen T-56 weapons, thirteen claymore mines, one Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG), three T-81 weapons, one Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG), one M-16 weapon, one 40 mm grenade launcher, one .22 weapon, one repeater shotgun, two Self Loading Rifles (SLRs), one T-97 weapon, three T-97 magazines, two Zisco VF-150 sets, one I-com computer set and one Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
Meanwhile, troops in BATTICALOA recovered three VCD players, one cash counter machine, one electric calculator, one electric drilling machine, three hand drills, one iron cutting saw, two electric hand saws, two toolkits, one LTTE flag, one Global Positioning System (GPS) and three hundred LTTE books from NARAKAMULLA.
