Low-Income Group Students in Oddusudan 64 Division Area &;amp; Kilinochchi 57 Division Area Offered Push Bicycles


Seenigama - based ‘Guna Jaya Sathuta Padanama’ (Foundation of Goodness), headed by Mr Kushil Gunasekara once again showed its goodwill and generosity towards people living in Oddusudan Divisional Secretariat (64 Division area) under Security Forces Headquarters, Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) and 57 Division area under Security Forces Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) by donating 300 more push bicycles for distribution among low-income group families and students on Saturday (19).   

In the past one and half year, the same foundation has donated about 2000 push bicycles in total, including the 300 given away on Saturday (19) at both Oddusudan Maha Vidyalaya and 571 Brigade Headquarters at Kilinochchi town. Receipt of 2000 push bicycles has enormously eased the burden of mobility of those schooling children and civilians in some 2000 families.   

With the coordination of Oddusudan Divisional Secretariat, civil affairs unit of the 64 Division at Oddusudan, commanded by Brigadier H.W.M.S.D.B Pananwala screened the beneficiaries from schools in Oddusudan Divisional Secretariat before a total of 150 push bicycles were given away to the needy school children during a brief ceremony, held at Oddusudan Maha Vidyalaya on Saturday (19).

Mr Kushil Gunasekara, Founder of ‘Guna Jaya Sathuta Padanama’, Brigadier H.W.M.S.D.B Pananwala, General Officer Commanding, 64 Division, Deputy Zonal Director of Education, 643 Brigade Commander, Unit Commanding Officers and several others took part in the donation ceremony.

In the meantime, the same Foundation of Goodness Saturday (19) morning distributed 150 more push bicycles among selected low-income group families and school students during a separate ceremony at 571 Brigade Headquarters, Kilinochchi.

Mr Kushil Gunasekara, Founder of ‘Guna Jaya Sathuta Padanama’, Brigadier K.R.P Rowel, General Officer Commanding, 571 Brigade Headquarters, 573 and 574 Brigade Commanders, several invitees and a large gathering of students and civilians attended the ceremony.
