The certificate awarding ceremony of Long-Range Patrol Course No. 21 attendees was held on 02 December at the 3 Special Forces Regiment headquarters sticking to COVID-19 19 protocols. One Officer and sixty-three Other Ranks graduated as Long-Range Patrol members after undergoing a vigorous training schedule of nine months.
At the invitation of the Commanding Officer of 3 Regiment Special Forces, Major J Rathnayake, the graduation ceremony was presided by Major General Harendra Ranasingha, Colonel of the Regiment Special Forces and Commander of 1 Corps, Brigade Commander, Special Forces Brigade, Brigadier Thushara Mahalekam, Centre Commandant, Special Forces Regimental Centre, Colonel Prasad Randunu and Senior Officers of the Special Forces Regiment were associated with the occasion.
The Best Student of the course and the Best Shooter awards were awarded to Lieutenant R.D.V.G Samaraweera, and the Best in Physical Fitness was awarded to Lance Corporal Pradeep Kumara. Furthermore, the event saw the opening of the newly-constructed building and the graduation dinner.
