A limited representation of Officers and Other Ranks serving the Logistic Command Headquarters at Kosgama (Log Comd) staged a New Year festival inside the premises on Thursday (8) on the eve of the New Year, adding the pleasure of the dawn of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year. Strict COVID-19 health guidelines were observed throughout the event.
Organized on the guidelines given by Major General Ranjan Premalal, Commander, Logistic Command, the event had a number of traditional and fun-making features.
Competitions like pot cracking, cadjan weaving, grease pole climbing, bun-eating, coconut scraping, etc added colour and fun to the day’s event adhering to COVID-19 health guidelines.
Throughout the day, Officers, Soldiers and Civil Staffers took part in a multitude of ‘Avurudu’ events, where they all enjoyed and had a good time as a whole.
Winners and achievers in all events were awarded valuable gifts at the end of the day’s ceremony.
