Locally Identified Numbers Rise - NOCPCO

By this morning (12), a total of 124 persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were three expatriates (one from Oman at Sungreen Habarana QC and 2 from Kuwait at Norochcholai and Passara QCs) and remaining 121 were locally identified close contacts of Minuwangoda garment factory-infected employees, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (12), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory is 1307.

The flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 02 persons has arrived this morning (12) and they were to be sent to QCs for necessary quarantining.

Within the day (12), 112 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 28 persons are from Norochcholai QC, 05 persons from Amaya Beach QC, 01 from Jetwing Blue QC, 01 from Hotel Jetwing Beach QC, 12 persons from Beacon Beach QC, 31 individuals from Hotel Dolphin, 17 from Rajagiriya QC, 10 persons from Nipuna Boossa QC and 07 persons from Habaraduwa Police QC.

Likewise, 51,004 individuals by this morning (12) have so far left home after quarantining. As of this morning (12), 10,447 persons in 93 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (11), 3468 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 331,972.
