Life Support Training Given to Troops Bound for South Sudan

The Advanced Life Support Training programme, meant for the Sri Lankan contingent leaving to serve the Level II hospital in South Sudan got underway at the Colombo Army Hospital on Wednesday (6) in order to orientate those troops.

The full-day training that matches European Resuscitation Council guidelines included lectures, demonstrations and skill stations for hands-on training. 25 members including doctors, nurses and operating theatre technicians were trained during this project.

The training was organized by Colonel Dr Champika Abeysinghe, Consultant Anesthetist Army Hospital, an ERC ALS instructor and Course Director. The instructor panel included 8 Medical officers in Anesthesia and Intensive Care.
