Leading Buddhist Monks in Jaffna Meet Jaffna Commander

A three-member delegation of Chief Buddhist monks Ven Dr. Akuratiye Nandanayake Thero, Chief Prelate Western Province, Director of Vidyodaya Pirivena, Maligakanda, former Vice Chancellor Buddhist and Pali University of Colombo, Editor in Chief Sinhala Dictionary, Ven Dr. Nagoda Amarawansa Maha Thero, Justice of Peace (All Island), Chief Sanganayake of Western Province, President Maha Mahinda International Dharmadutha Society, Director of Sri Lanka Vidyalaya Maha Pirivena, Chief Incumbent of Ode Temple Colombo10, Abhayadarshanaramaya Athurugiriya and Ven K Gunawansa Thero, Head of Vihara met Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J) Major General Mahesh Senanayaka Wednesday (7) morning at Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna on the sidelines of a reconciliatory programme that took place in the past few days.

They were warmly welcomed by the Commander, SF-J and he briefed them about the prevailing situation in Jaffna peninsula.

During the meeting, they discussed matters of reconciliation and the assistance of the Security Forces to promote coexistence and reconciliation in the peninsula.

Brigadier Nirmal Koswatta, Commander Forward Maintenance Area - North too participated in the discussion.
