Latest Fights in Mannar Kill Twenty Tiger Terrorists

MANNAR: AT LEAST TEN TIGER TERRORISTS were reported killed and a large number of other LTTE cadres were injured when troops stormed LTTE bunker line at PARAPPAKANDAL, MANNAR this morning (5) at about 9.00 a.m.

Troops successfully captured six LTTE bunkers while recovering three LTTE dead bodies along with two T-56 weapons and more than 200 anti personnel mines according to latest information from the confronted area.

Similarly troops in general ADAMPAN area in MANNAR the same day (5) launched an attack on LTTE Defence area ahead of them and razed two bunkers to the ground during morning hours.

Troops after the clash confirm that at least eight LTTE cadres were killed in the attack.

Tiger terrorists in the meantime launched a 122 mm heavy artillery fire towards confronted area to rescue the remaining Tiger terrorists from the attacking troops.

Troops retaliated and repulsed the Tiger attack.

Intercepted LTTE radio communication later revealed that two more terrorists were killed and eight more Tiger cadres were injured in retaliatory fire of troops.

Four soldiers were also injured in the incident and rushed for medical treatments.
