Large Carbonic Fertilizer Stock, Processed by SFHQ-East Handed over to 'Lak Pohora' Authorities

The Security Force Headquarters -East (SFHQ -E), pushing forward the government's organic fertilizer production drive as per instructions given by the Commander of the Army to all formations handed over its first SFHQ-E troops-produced carbonic fertilizer stock of 86, 961 kg, required for this year's Maha season to the Ceylon Fertilizer Company Limited (Lak Pohora) on Tuesday (26) during a simple ceremony.

The heavyweight behind the project, Major General Channa Weerasuriya, Commander Security Forces- East after inviting the General Manager of the Ceylon Fertilizer Company Limited Mr R. A. P. Perera to the SFHQ-East premises at Welikanda symbolically delivered the stock for onward distribution as deemed necessary among the farming community.

On the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces- East, troops of the SFHQ-East and its under command formations in the past few months devoted their agricultural expertise for this production process with the participation of agriculturally-qualified Officers and scores of Other Ranks.

The General Manager of ‘Ceylon Fertilizer Company Limited, Mr R. A. P Perera thanked the Army for its initiative and symbolically accepted the stock at the location before the stock was transported as decided by the recipient.

General Officer Commanding 23 Division, Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Admin and Quartering, Regional Managers of Eastern Province and Polonnaruwa District - Ceylon Fertilizer Company Limited were also present at the occasion. The brief ceremony strictly followed health guidelines.
