Land used by Army in Karachchi DS Returned to State Authorities

The 57 Division HQ, now operational under the Security Force HQ –Mullaittivu recently handed over papers, related to vacation of a land patch of 36.8 perches, hitherto used by the Army in Paravipanchan village area in the Karachchi Divisional Secretariat are in Mullaittivu to Mr B Jeyaharan , Divisional Secretary for Karachchi.

Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division formally delivered documents and symbolically handed over this piece of land on the directions of General Shavendra Silva, Chief Of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army under the supervision of Major General Sisira Pilapitiya, Commander Security Forces – Mullaittivu.

Brigadier D.P Welagedara, 571 Brigade Commander, a few government officials of the Divisional Secretariat, together with few senior officers of the 57 Division joined the occasion by adhering to health guidelines.
