Ven Gunarathana Thero of the Singapore Buddhist library recently visited Kokeliya Buddhist temple in the 56 Division area, in the company of Mrs Senani Jayaratne, the spouse of the Prime Minister Hon D.M. Jayaratne and gave away a stock of essentials to both civilians and school students.
The programme, coordinated by the 56 Division under the Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni (SFHQ-W), was organized on the instructions of Brigadier D.A.R Ranawaka, General Officer Commanding, 56 Division.
Gift parcels included books, cloths, money, dry rations and several other essentials.
