The Dagoba (pagoda) and the Buddhist shrine, newly constructed jointly by the troops of 62 Division and 622 Brigade at Kiriibbanwewa Sri Dharma Prantharama temple were opened to the public for veneration during a simple ceremony last Saturday (19).
Sponsorship for this construction was provided by the 82 Group of Old Anandians of Colombo Ananda College, together with Mr Kanishka Tissa Ranasinghe.
General Officer Commanding (GOC), 62 Division graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Ven Polonnaruwe Thilakalankara Chief Incumbent of Kiriibbanwewa Sri Darma Pranntharama temple, Colonel K.P.S Premala Brigade Commander 622 Brigade, Representatives of Old Anandian 82 Group, devotees and villages attended the opening ceremony.
