Hindu devotees and Army troops joined hands together on Thursday (27) to mark ‘Maha Shiva Rathri Day’ during a special ceremony at Kilinochchi Kandaswami Hindu Temple.
Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Force Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), together with 57 Division General Officer Commanding, senior officers, civil staffers and other ranks, attended the special ceremony.
Chief Kurukkal (Priest) Rev Shiva Sri Nam distributed ‘Pongal’ milk rice and invoked blessings on all devotees.
Army troops on account of this holy day conducted some parallel cleaning programmes at selected Hindu Temples.
