Under the close supervision and guidance of the Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe, Kilinochchi troops are conducting a range of humanitarian services in their preventive roles against COVID-19.
Troops by way of using Special Rider teams belonging to the SFHQ-KLN continue to man roadblocks, checking vehicle and passenger movements, supevising supplies of essential services, conduct of special awareness programmes, foot patrols disinfecting public places, etc in a bid to stem the control of the virus into other areas.
Further, 03 Intermediate Care Centers have already been set up under the supervision of the Commander of the Security Forces Kilinochchi as per directions of the Commander of the Army for the treatment of Covid-19 patients with 350 beds at Bharathipuram ICC, 200 beds at Murukandi ICC and 200 beds at Paranthan ICC.
The Commander SF (KLN) instructed ground troops to take maximum preventive measures to eradicate Covid 19 pandemic and ordered to sustain the monitoring process on civilians and instructed to get the assistance of all available resources and employment of more troops while coordinating with the Police and other relevant health authorities.
All General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders and other formation Commanders are throwing their full weight behind to make these efforts a success.
