More than 2500 students from Kilinochchi District took an exceptional interest in the electric technology that has been used in the giant Kilinochchi pandol, erected on account of Vesak (May 24 -31).
Estimated 30,000 multi-coloured bulbs glittered continuously for 7 days in the pandol at Kilinochchi playground, erected and funded by tri-service troops and Police personnel serving the district.
The mammoth display caused more than 2500 students from Kilinochchi region to visit the site during daytime in order to receive knowledge on technical aspect of the electrification system of the mega structure that caused curiosity.
Army engineering staff explained the visitors on the technological aspect of the lighting system and encouraged youngsters to improve their knowledge.
