Restoring the Civil Law in areas previously terrorized by the so-called “law” of the ruthless LTTE terrorists, the Kilinochchi Magisterial Court complex was declared open on Thursday (29) under the patronage of the Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake and Minister of Justice Rauff Hakeem at a simple ceremony, attended by many other distinguished guests.
Kilinochchi Courts began their sitting in different buildings on temporary basis following the defeat of LTTE two years ago.
Governor for Northern Province Major General (Retd) G. A. Chandrasiri, District Secretary for Kilinochchi Ms. Ketheeswaram Rupawathi, Security Forces Commander Kilinochchi Major General N. Udawatta, General Officer Commanding 57 Division Brigadier K. R. P. Rowel and many Senior Officers were present at the occasion.
