Troops of the 572, 574 and 661 Brigades offered a formal welcome to their newly-appointed Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi (SF-KLN), Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana when the latter called at those Headquarters respectively during 14 - 15 February for the first time after he took over the command.
Troops upon his arrival at 572, 574 and 661 Brigades respectively presented a Guard Turnout plus a Guard of Honour to be in line with military formalities after respective Brigade Commanders welcomed their Kilinochchi Commander.
Senior officers briefed the visiting Commander on the role and tasks of each Brigade before he joined symbolic planting of saplings in specific locations to mark his visit to the places.
He also during separate visits spoke to the troops and urged them to perform their duties diligently and maintain the highest levels of discipline.
He also visited the 15 (V) Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment serving the area before he wound up his programmes.
General Officer Commanding, Brigade Commander, Commanding Officers in under command Battalions, senior officers, officers and other rankers were associated with the Kilinochchi Commander’s visit to those places.
