To be in line with instructions given by General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army to Security Force Headquarters, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces-Kilinochchi (SF-KLN) with his troops has launched several livelihood support projects of civilians in Kilinochchi region, aimed at eradicating poverty and empowering war-affected and low- income families.
On Saturday (29) the Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi undertook a tour to see the progress of Army-supported house construction work, Poultry Farms Projects, Palmyra Production Community Centre in Pooneryn and several other community-empowerment projects in progress.
Those projects while uplifting their living standards would simultaneously help promote reconciliation process of the government in Kilinochchi area.
General Officer Commanding 66 Division, Major General Ajith Dissanayake, Commanding Officers of 24 VIR and 5(V) MIR and the Chief Coordinator of Civil Affairs at the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi also participated in those visits.
