A large crowd of Hindu devotees, including Kurukkal Shiva Srinam, President at Kandaswami Hindu Kovil, Kilinochchi attended a ‘Deepavali’ festival, organized by the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) at the Kandaswami Hindu Kovil.
Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN, together with the General Officer Commanding, 57 Division contributed to the special Pooja programme, held on account of Deepavali festival.
The Pooja attended by a large gathering of SFHQ-KLN soldiers was performed by Kurukkal Shiva Srinam who invoked blessings on the country and the Army.
Deepavali, the festival of harvest for Hindu devotees is regarded a national festival in Sri Lanka too since it symbolizes prosperity.
