Kids of low-income group families learning at Karambakurichchi Pre-School in the 52 Division Headquarters area in Varani, Jaffna on Friday (25), received gift parcels containing nutritious Predia-4 powdered milk packets and school items, following initiatives taken by the 52 Division.
48 Gift parcels each with a powdered milk packet, valued at Rs. 500/= and 54 more gift parcels with school accessories, all worth over Rs. 40,000/= were distributed among those kids during a simple ceremony at Karambakurichchi Pre-School in the presence of teachers and parents.
The project, aimed at promoting nutritional standards among poor kids in the area, was another community-oriented initiative taken by troops of the 52 Division and its Civil Affairs Office.
Distribution of those parcels was witnessed by Brigadier W.A.V.A Sudasinghe, General Officer Commanding, 52 Division, Civil Affairs Officer, 52 Division, 522 Brigade Civil Affairs Officer, Commanding Officer, 15 (v) Gajaba Regiment and a few more senior officers.
