KDU Begins Its 9th International Research Conference - 2016

Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development, Mr Sagala Rathnayake (MP) as the Chief Guest opened the inaugural sessions of the Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) on ‘Professional Integration for a Secure Nation’ this morning (8) at the KDU main auditorium. 

The two day seminar will continue during 8-9 September with the participation of both local and foreign scholars.    Upon arrival at the venue the Chief Guest was received by the KDU Vice Chancellor, Rear Admiral J.J Ranasinghe who delivered the welcome speech afterwards.

Minister Sagala Rathnayake, delivering the keynote address commended the services of the KDU and stressed the importance of national security of a country.

Delegates from Australia, USA, UK, Canada, Jamaica, Germany, China, Sweden, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives are attending the conclave this year.

During the sessions 250 local and foreign participants are scheduled submit presentations where they will share knowledge and discuss their research findings. Out of more than 450 research papers 295 were accepted offering 212 orals and 83 posters.

Eng Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Secretary of Defence Chief of Defence Staff, Tri Service Commanders, Chancellor of KDU and many distinguished local and foreign guests were present during the inaugural sessions.
