THE closing date for the applications for the General Sir John Kotalawela Defence University (KDU) intake 2010 is on April 9.
KDU Vice Chancellor Major General Milinda Pieris invited university qualified sporty and healthy youth to join the University Grants Commission approved KDU to qualify to become intelligent, highly capable and motivated officers of the armed forces of Sri Lanka while being a graduand.
It is the only university of its kind in Sri Lanka as well as in the South Asian region. The KDU is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities-United Kingdom so that the graduands can apply for a postgraduate from any of the commonwealth universities.
Vice Chancellor Pieris told the Daily News that youth both male and female of the ages between 18 to 22 could apply for this invaluable opportunity.
The closing date for applications for the aeronautical engineering course for civil students will be April 23.
