Kandy NYSC Members Receive Army Knowledge on ‘Capacity-building’

At the request of Mr. Pasindu Guneratne, Director General/Chairman of National Youth Service Council (NYSC), the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu facilitated the successful execution of a “Capacity-Building and Leadership Development” programme for officials of the National Youth Services Council (NYSC) in the Kandy district on 29 April at the Kandy District Secretariat office.

The training programme designed as per guidelines given by the Army Chief was conducted by Major General J.A.R.S.K Jayasekara USP psc, Director General of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

The training programme consisted of training in ‘capacity-building, leadership development’, ‘delegation and empowerment, adherence to the council code of ethics both inside and outside the office’, ‘establishment of ethical management and best practices’, recognition of the influences on young people’s thinking and the role of motivation in behavior at work’, etc.

Kandy Assistant Director of National Youth Services, Mr. Suchinthana Dissanayake organized this programme. Kandy District Secretary, Mr. Chandana Thennakoon, Additional District Secretary, Mr. Uthpala ayarathna, Assistant District Secretary, Mrs. Sandamali, Chairman, Gulf Lanka Agency, Mr. A.M. Rafeek and District Manager, Gulf Lanka Agency, Mr. Nazhan also participated in the one-day training programme, held at the Kandy District Secretariat.
