Japanese Ambassador in Sri Lanka Visits 55 Division HQ in Jaffna During a Visit to the North

Ambassador to Japan in Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr Mizukoshi Hideaki, together with a delegation during a visit to the Jaffna penisula called at the 55 Division HQ of the Security Force HQ-Jaffna on Wednesday (29).

Major General Prasanna Gunaratne, General Officer Commanding, 55 Division on behalf of the Jaffna Commander welcomed them and briefed them on current engagements of Security Forces and their commitment to well-being of the people, green agricultural projects, support provided to smooth functioning of essential services during difficult times and projects for promotion of peace and reconciliation in the Jaffna peninsula with special emphasis on reconciliation process in order to upgrade the Civil-Military Development programmes.

His Excellency Mizukoshi Hideaki greatly appreciated the services of the Security Forces and was pleased. He left compliments in the visitors' book and made a special note, appreciating the Security Forces Headquarters of Jaffna for their sheer commitment and dedication towards strengthening the peace, democracy and justice among Jaffna people.

Towards the end, Major General Prasanna Gunaratne and the Ambassador of Japan exchanged mementoes as tokens of goodwill and cooperation.

Brigadier General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters-Jaffna as well as the Senior Officers of Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna were associated with the meeting.
