Jaffna Troops Launch Special Children’s Day Programme

Troops in the Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna (SF-J) marked the World Children’s Day and facilitated Nelliady pre–school students to visit Palaly airport Saturday (01) morning.

The project was launched in order to broader the understanding on ‘reconciliation’ efforts in the North since it was the first time that they were making this trip.

Facilitation for the visit of those students at Nelliady pre-school was made by the Commander, SF-J, Major General Mahesh Senanayake in coordination with the Sri Lanka Air Force at the request of Mr. S. Akilathas, Northern Provincial Council member to the SFHQ-J.

It was the first time that this group of pre-school students visited the Palaly airport. Three teachers, forty five parents and eighty eight students joined the visit. Sri Lanka Army treated all of them to snacks and soft drinks.

After their visit to the airport, they went to see the Naval base in Kankesanthurai.
