The South-based well-known donor, Mr Kumara Weerasooriya at the request of Major General Senerath Bandara, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna offered financial assistance for erection of one more new home for a needy family in Uduvil area, Jaffna, just hours after two more new houses, sponsored by him were vested in an Rebel woman in Awai area and in another woman in Vallipuram area in the peninsula on Monday (19).
The Jaffna Commander during brief ceremony laid the foundation stone for this new house, meant for Mrs D Indra Rathish and her family in Uduvil after their hardship was intimated to the 51 Division HQ and the SFHQ-Jaffna.
Technically-skilled Army troops of 9 Sri Lanka Light Infantry of the 511 Brigade under the supervision of the 51 Division are set to carry out the construction work with raw materials, sponsored by the donor.
Religious dignitaries, Major General Sumith Premalal, General Officer Commanding 51 Division, Brigadier Prasanna Ranawaka, Brigadier General Staff, Security Forces – Jaffna, Colonel Rohitha Rathnayake, Commander 511 Brigade, Staff Officers of the 51 Division, Major Sisira Kumara, Commanding Officer, 9 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, well wishers and troops were associated with the brief cornerstone-laying ceremony.
