Jaffna Troops Build 701st New House for Another Needy Family

The record 701st new house, built by Jaffna Army troops for a needy family in Urumpirai -West area was vested in the recipients on Tuesday (5) during a simple ceremony, graced by Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna.

Financial support for the construction of the new house was jointly made by Ms Thushara Thenuwara, a social service activist and All Ranks of the 5 Sri Lanka Army Service Corps to coincide with its 12th anniversary. Mrs Arumgam Rasamma with her family members gratefully accepted the keys of the new house before she cut a ribbon with the day's Chief Guest. Hindu religious observances invoked blessings on the family and the new house soon after ceremonial warming took place.

15 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops under the supervision of the Commander, 511 Brigade provided much-needed manpower for its erection within a few weeks.
