56 Infantry Division organized a special surgery program at Teaching Hospital, Jaffna on 26 March 2024 for patients screened during medical camps in remote areas of Mullaitivu District.
Dr. Malaravan, Dr. Thileepan and the staff of the Teaching Hospital Jaffna eye unit, in collaboration with Army Base Hospital Palaly, conducted cataract surgeries for 87 patients. Additionally, 28 patients from the Jaffna area were also participated in the surgery program.
Major General S. Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, the General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division, visited the Jaffna Teaching Hospital's eye unit to personally oversee the programme.
