A REPRESENTATIVE group of students, attached to the “Students’ Organization for Justice” in Jaffna during a cordial meeting with Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Commander Security Forces, Jaffna (SF-J) at the Jaffna Civil Affairs Coordination Office sought solutions to several of their concerns. The meeting occurred on Sunday (25).
Those students from the Faculties of Law and Arts at the Jaffna University and Gurunagar Higher Education Institute, during this meeting, freely articulated their views on matters of concern to the student fraternity in the peninsula.
Major General Hathurusinghe gave a patient hearing to their concerns, grievances and concerns provided solutions at the venue itself while assuring solutions to other pending issues. Major General Hathurusinghe also instructed relevant security authorities to take necessary steps and resolve other issues at the earliest. He also requested the students to contact the civil affairs office which is open round the clock whenever needed.
Brigadier General Staff SF-J Brig. B.C.J.A.F. Rodrigo and Chief Coordinator Civil Affairs, Jaffna Brig. D.M.G.B. Alikewela were also present at the meeting.
