Jaffna Students Gifted with More Push Bicycles for Transport Needs

12 more students of low-income families in the Jaffna Peninsula were fortunate to receive brand new push bicycles, thanks to an initiative taken by Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna in collaboration with one Mr Nirmalan Selvadurai, a philanthropist, resident in Australia.

The distribution ceremony took place at the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) on Friday (24) in the presence of parents and teachers of those recipients. Major General Hettiarachchi and a few Senior Officers presented those push bicycles to students. A brief speech made by the Jaffna Commander thanked the donor for his thoughtfulness and appreciation of Army roles towards betterment of living conditions of Jaffna people.
