District Secretary - Jaffna, Mr. A. Sivabalasundran, Northern Province Additional Secretary to the President, Mr. I Ilangovan and few other state officials in Jaffna met the recently appointed Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, at Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna on 14 February 2024.
During the meeting, the state officials conveyed their congratulations to the new Commander and expressed appreciation for the military's noteworthy contributions to community relations. They commended initiatives such as housing projects for needy families in the peninsula, various donation programs, and support provided to government authorities in Jaffna.
A substantial portion of the discussion centered on the military's role in advancing the economic, social, and cultural development of the Jaffna people. Government officials praised Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc for fostering a positive and cooperative relationship during his previous tenures as General Officer Commanding and Brigade Commander in Jaffna. They expressed optimism for continued collaboration in the future.
Additional District Secretary, Mr. M. Piiratheepan, Additional District Secretary (Land), Mr. K. Shrimohanan and Tellippalai Divisional Secretary, Mrs. Sivakenga Sutheesnar participated in the meeting.
